Vintage Janesko

Supplies needed:

Scrapkit of choice - I used my PTU kit “Lipstick and Latte.” You can purchase this kit at Stargazer Scraps or Digital Chaos.

Scraps needed: 1 paper, 1 frame, 1 flower, accents of choice

Tube or Image of choice – I am using a gorgeous artwork ©Jennifer Janesko, http://www.janesko.com/ In order to use the image in this tutorial you MUST purchase it from CILM.

Font of choice – I am using Kunstler Script, you may use any font you like.

Filter – Mura’s Meister: Copies. The original site is closed, but I’m sure you can find it with Google ;)

All links and supplies shared with permission.

This tutorial is written using PSP X2, but should be easy to do on other versions. It is written assuming you have a general working knowledge of PSP.

Let’s get started!

As we go along, we will be working from the bottom of the tag towards the top. Sometimes it may look odd, you may paste a paper right over the top of all your work, but don’t worry – it will come together in the end J Each time you paste a new layer, it should be your new top layer.

First, open a new canvas 500 x 500.

Open Paper 16, resize 50%, copy and paste onto your canvas.

Open Flower 09, resize 70%, copy and paste onto your canvas.

Save your progress.

Apply Mura’s Copies to your flower layer, using the settings below:

Open Bead Doodle 4 and resize 75%. Copy and paste it onto your canvas.

Image>Mirror (or Ctrl+M).

Image>Free Rotate (or Ctrl+R), left 20 degrees.

Move it to the bottom, left of your canvas.

Duplicate the Bead Doodle (right click on it’s layer in the layer palette and choose Duplicate)

On the duplicated layer, Image>Mirror, Image>Flip (Ctrl+M, Ctrl+ I)

Save your progress.

Open Paper 13, resize 50%, and copy and paste it onto your canvas.

Open your tube. I am using the closeup included with the Janesko tube, resized 80%.

Add a drop shadow, I used 4, 4, 40, 14, black. (Effects, 3D Effects, Drop Shadow) Save.

Open Frame 11, resize 55%, and copy and paste it onto your canvas.

Arrange your tube so that she fits in the frame how you like. I moved her slightly to the right, so her cut-off shoulder wouldn’t show. Lol

Activate your magic wand tool, match mode: none, feather: 0.

With your frame layer active, click inside the frame with your magic wand.

Selections>Modify>Expand by 10. Selections>Invert.

Click on your tube layer and hit Delete.

Click on the paper layer below your tube and hit Delete.

Selections>Select None.

Save.

Add any other accents or embellishments that you like.

If you are going to resize the tag, do so now BEFORE you add your copyright info.

Add your copyright info/license number/tagger’s mark. Save.

Add your name or other text, save as .png file, and you are done!
