You will need a good working knowledge of PSP to complete this tutorial. This tutorial was written using version X2.
Download BeckyMask017 and install it in your Masks folder (usually My Documents>My PSP Files>Masks).
Open a new canvas – 500 wide x 250 high, transparent.
Open Chicken Wire 3 and resize it 50%, then copy and paste it onto your canvas.
Open Paper 62 and resize it 50%, then copy and paste it onto your canvas.
With your paper layer active, go to Layers>Load/Save Mask>Load Mask from Disk.
Choose Beck_Mask017. Be sure that Source Luminance is checked, Fit to canvas is checked, Invert transparency is Unchecked, and Hide all mask is checked. Click Load.
Right-click on your mask layer and choose Merge>Merge Group.
Save your progress.
Apply a gradient glow to your masked paper layer. I used #551f2d with a Glow Radius of 5 pixels, Soften Corners: 0, Opacity: 100, Distortion Amount: 0, Distortion Lump Size: 0, Smoothness: 100.
Open Paper 09, resize 50%, and copy and paste it onto your canvas (above your masked layer).
Open Messy Frame 1, resize it 56%, and copy and paste it onto your canvas.
Save your progress.
Open your tube. Copy and paste it onto your canvas, drag it below your frame layer, and arrange it so that the face is showing inside the frame.
Choose your Magic Wand tool, set the Match Mode to None, and the feather to 0. Click inside the main portion of your frame.
Selections>Modify>Expand by 3 pixels. Then, Selections>Invert (CTRL+Shift+I).
Activate your tube layer and hit the Delete key.
Activate your paper layer (the new one, Paper 09) and hit the Delete key.
Selections>Select None (or CTRL+D).
Save your progress.
Right-click on the frame layer and choose Merge>Merge Down.
Repeat. Now your frame, tube, and paper09 layer should all be merged together. So, you should have three layers – merged frame layer, masked paper layer, chicken wire layer.
To get rid of any excess outside of the canvas area, activate your merged frame layer.
Selections>Select All (or CTRL+A)
Image>Crop to Selection (or Shift+R)
Apply a drop shadow to your merged frame layer. I used 4, 4, 55, 8, black.
Save your progress.
Now, open your tube again, and resize it to a height of 250 pixels (be sure Lock Aspect Ratio is checked).
Copy and paste it onto your canvas, and move it to the far left.
Adjust>Sharpness>Sharpen.
Apply a drop shadow to your tube. I used 0, 4, 55, 8, black.
Save your progress.
Open your flair of choice. I used Flair 08, resized 65%.
Apply a drop shadow to your flair. I used 3, 3, 55, 8, black.
Now, add your copyright info, license number (if applicable), and tagger’s mark (if you use one).
Add a new raster layer as your top layer (right click on your layers palette and choose “new raster layer”)
Selections>Select All (CTRL+A), Selections>Modify>Contract by 2 pixels, Selections>Invert (CTRL+Shift+I)
Flood fill the selection with your color of choice, I used #551f2d.
Selections>Select None (Ctrl+D)
Finally, add your name. I set the foreground color to off, and the background color to #551f2d. Then I applied a gradient glow using the same settings as before, using the color #658925. Finally I added a drop shadow of 3, 3, 55, 3, black.
Save as .png file and you’re done!
